On June 4th, 2016 a group of volunteers came together with help from the United Way of East Central Texas and sponsors from both businesses and service agencies. The goal of this group was to help members of our community meet their hunger needs during the "dog days" of summer. Anderson County suffers from a Child Food Insecurity Rate of 29.5% which is exacerbated by lack of school provided nutrition during the summer break. Our community came together for one day in an outpouring of good will and had a GREAT time in the process. Thank you everyone who participated.
